The pulse of life
Drifts through the open spaces
From the mouth of every chimney
And the yawn of every being
Proof of existence escapes.

Abode and body
Burn discreetly.
Atop the wintry chill
Crystal carbons cloud:
Exposing the warmth within;
Defying the cold without.
