‘Stars’

Shadows creep across the blue
Eclipse the void and alter hue
As creatures swirl within the deep
Spread their tales and soon retreat.

Shining ships drift athwart space,
Round the earth, yet leave no trace
Of anchors beneath the weightless sea,
Fused firm to foreign land unseen.

Where sunken treasure’s golden spark
Beckons divers toward the dark.
They rocket through the milky waves
And search for worth amidst the haze.

Transparencies and showers merge.
Galaxies from our thoughts diverge
And though for countless leagues we roam
These stars will always speak of home.
