Love Does

The other week I heard about a guy named Bob Goff.  I’m not really sure all that much about the guy, but I do know that he has some intriguing stories to share.

I heard about him in an interview on ‘The Relevant Podcast’ and learned that he just wrote a book called, ‘Love Does’. Being so captivated by the few stories he told in the interview I bought the book. It came in the mail a few days later and I began reading it. All I had to do was read through the introduction and I was hooked. Each chapter was filled with a story (or two) of adventure, love, whimsy, and excitement. Now I am finding it hard to put the book down. (Today I nearly read 50 pages of  it)…

As I was reading the book this afternoon I was wondering why I was so captivated by his book. Why some books about people’s lives are so hard to put down and others are so hard to keep up. Why Bob Goff seems like the most interesting man in the world to me. Why I love his book so much. The answer: he not only tells a good story, but he has intentionally lived a good story.

I love good stories, but sometimes what is even better is a good story told by someone who actually lived that story. Good true to life stories are hard to come by these days, and those are the stories I love the most. I can’t put this book down because it is written by a man who loves well, and lives well. He story captivates me, and inspires me to tell a better story as well.

What books inspire you to tell a better story?
