Free Fall

The world is in free fall
And the world is standing still.

Winding trails
And feverish waters
Fall at our feet

The sun dips its hands
Into the chilly current
To cool them for a moment

The mountains sighs
And the trees reach
To cover its mouth

The bridge echoes
Across silent pools
Caught between clamoring rapids

The tunnel deceives
Deepening with
Differing perspectives

The world engulfs
Us as we run our
Thoughts out like a river
