More Tomorrows

Just a little while ago I wrote a new song for Antonia called, ‘More Tomorrows’ about her and the times we’ve spent together… check out the video by clicking the picture above. (The video was recorded at my cabin on the shores of Lake Minisink in Bushkill, PA)

More Tomorrows

It all began on my 24th
With a silver seed and a spoken word,
Of what would come if loyal hands
Held tight and clung to what they had.
You stood there with your pretty eyes,
Open wide to catch the night;
Your smile wrapped the room around
Caught my gaze and there I found
Something I’d never seen before
A heart beat I could not ignore.
I found it hard to breathe that day
Because you took my breathe away

I never thought I’d meet a girl
Who’d hold my heart and see the world
Like an artist views a canvas white
And a poet surveys the stars at night.
But there you were with your wild heart
And your camera lens on the Oven Knob.
You took a picture by my side
And sketched the mountains rolling by.
I couldn’t help, but glance at you,
As evenings eyes came shining through,
Your beauty took my by surprise,
As stars lit up November skies.

You are the bright colored leaves in Autumn’s array
You’re the spring rain come to wash my fears away
You’re the song that I sing, and every word that I say
You’re the story that I’ll tell until my dying day.

I handed you a fallen star,
Looked in your eyes and shared my heart
And though there was risk in what I said
I never once regretted it.
I held your hand February 4
As we forded pine and began to forge
Our way through life, side by side,
Holding one another tight.
Through portholes in those concrete walls,
Band shells, and long distance calls
We sifted gold and made our claim;
We broke the rules and froze the frame

We built our kingdom in reverse
Before the 3:10 could traverse
Across New England, down to see
The moments you were next to me.
On the crumbling frame of an ancient home,
A silent palace made of stone,
Your head rested upon my chest
And I knew I was more than blessed.
You captivate and inspire me
To be the man that I need to be,
And I’ll sail across the midnight tide
To keep you safe here by my side

You are the bright colored leaves in Autumn’s array
You’re the spring rain come to wash my fears away
You’re the song that I sing, and every word that I say
You’re the story that I’ll tell until my dying day.
