Freeze Frame

A snapshot moment:
Time present
Frozen, paralyzed, still.

The mountains stand
Like monuments
Built by distant memories
– Irrelevant and forgotten.
The trees, poised
Like statues,
Refuse to grow and
The landscape
Slumbers happily
In eternal serenity.

The world is static,
But we have come undone;
We have awakened.

 The weary hands of
The clock slow their chase,
But our hands have captured
Each other, for the very first time.

 Hibernation slips into
The recesses of the earth
But we remain unaltered;
We remain unchanged.

Silence surrounds us.
As beauty embraces
All that we were and
All that we are.

Time freezes like a canvas
And we are the living colors
– We are the vibrant strokes –
Dancing together within the frame.
